NADRA extends renewal dates for flood affectees

Due to flooding in many parts of the nation the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has extended the CNICs’ expiration date.

The expiration date for CNICs, which was set to expire in May 2022, has been moved to December 2022, according to a statement released by NADRA. In the flood-affected areas of Balochistan, Sukkur, and Dera Ghazi Khan, the dates have been extended.

Up to December 31, 2022, residents of the aforementioned three areas can renew their CNICs.

On September 1, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah first introduced the NADRA Biker Service, which allows applicants to have their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) applications processed at their doorstep for renewal and amendment.

According to a press release, Rana Sanaullah visited the authority’s headquarters where NADRA Chairman Muhammad Tariq Malik informed the Interior Minister on activities in South Punjab, Balochistan, and Sindh, which have been severely impacted by disastrous floods and high rains.

The majority of the NADRA registration centres’ buildings, which are submerged in water, have suffered significant losses as a result of the monsoon rains and floods, but the equipment has been preserved and evacuated. The chairman said that 150 NADRA employees’ homes in those locations had suffered damage.
