Important warning issued by Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia has issued a crucial warning to the pilgrims visiting Masjid al-Haram regarding the handling of their belongings and the necessary steps to be taken in case of losing them. As the guests of Allah converge in the Great Mosque of Kaaba, the ministry has emphasized the importance of safeguarding personal property and outlined specific measures to be followed in case of items going missing.

  1. Visit the Lost and Found Office at al-Morwa: Pilgrims are advised to promptly visit the Lost and Found Office located at al-Morwa within Masjid al-Haram if they discover that their belongings are missing. This on-site office serves as a central point for reporting and retrieving lost items.

  2. Submit Electronic Report through “Abshar” Platform: Another option provided by the Ministry is to submit an electronic report through the “Abshar” platform. This online reporting mechanism aims to streamline the process of reporting lost items, ensuring a quicker and more efficient resolution.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah stressed the importance of immediately notifying the security personnel if any lost items are found. This collaborative effort between pilgrims and security personnel is vital for the effective recovery and return of lost belongings.

In a related development, prospective Hajj aspirants have received positive news as the government extended the deadline for the submission of applications. The Spokesperson for Religious Affairs announced a 10-day extension, allowing individuals to submit their Hajj applications until December 22.

According to the spokesperson, applicants paying in dollars from abroad will have the opportunity to secure their spots without the need for a draw. Eligibility for application extends to those who have performed Hajj within the last 5 years.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Aneeq Ahmed, highlighted that the extension applies to applications under both the official regular Hajj scheme and the sponsorship scheme. This extension period aims to accommodate a broader range of applicants and facilitate a smoother application process.

In light of these developments, the Saudi Arabian government aims to enhance the experience for pilgrims and ensure that the Hajj journey is conducted with the utmost convenience and security. Pilgrims are encouraged to adhere to the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to contribute to a safe and organized pilgrimage.
