Under the revised tax policy, prize bond winnings are subject to withholding tax based on the filer status of the winner. Tax filers will face a 15 percent tax deduction, while non-filers will be taxed at 30 percent, resulting in a significantly reduced payout for those not registered with tax authorities.
Officials advise prize bond holders to keep their bonds safe and check results carefully after the draw is announced.
