K-Electric has announced scheduled maintenance work on 68 of its 2,129 feeders on September 30, 2026, which is expected to result in temporary power outages in several areas across Karachi.

The power utility said the planned interruptions are part of routine maintenance aimed at improving the efficiency, stability and reliability of Karachi’s electricity distribution network.
According to K-Electric, power supply to the affected feeders will be suspended for different durations, with scheduled outages expected between 8:00am and 6:00pm, depending on the location.
The utility clarified that these planned outages are separate from unexpected power disruptions caused by technical faults, tripping or system overloads. Electricity supply will be restored once the scheduled maintenance work is completed.
Areas Likely to Experience Power Outages
Residents and businesses connected to the affected feeders may experience temporary electricity disruptions during the maintenance period.
K-Electric has advised consumers to check the outage schedule for their respective areas and make necessary arrangements in advance. Customers have also been encouraged to plan for essential activities that depend on electricity to reduce inconvenience.
The utility said the maintenance work is intended to strengthen Karachi’s electricity distribution infrastructure and improve the reliability and stability of power supply across the city.

If Your Area Is Affected
- Charge phones, laptops, and any backup devices ahead of the scheduled window.
- If you rely on an electric water pump, fill storage tanks before the outage begins.
- Avoid opening fridges/freezers unnecessarily during the outage to keep food cold longer.
Power should restore automatically at the listed end time – if it doesn’t come back within an hour of the scheduled end, that likely indicates a separate fault, not the planned maintenance.
