Power utility K-Electric has announced that loadshedding will remain suspended during the ongoing heatwave in Karachi to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, as reported by local media.
The assurance comes after the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued a heatwave alert, urging authorities to take immediate steps to reduce the impact of extreme weather conditions.

KE spokesperson Imran Rana said the company is fully prepared to handle increased electricity demand and has deployed field teams to respond quickly to any technical faults.
He added that around 70 percent of the city is already exempt from loadshedding, and further shutdowns have been suspended to support residents during extreme heat.

The company also said it is working closely with civic agencies to ensure smooth coordination and maintain stability in power supply across Karachi.
KE has advised citizens to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, especially between 11am and 4pm, when temperatures typically peak during the day.

Following the heatwave alert, the weather department have also been urged citizens to stay hydrated, wear light and breathable clothing, and protect themselves from direct sunlight to reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses.
The development comes as Karachi continues to face rising temperatures and humidity, increasing pressure on electricity demand and public health systems.
