The Ramadan moon has been sighted in Pakistan, marking the beginning of Ramadan 1447 Hijri in the country.
The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee convened at the Auqaf Department building in Peshawar under the leadership of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad to observe the Ramadan moon.

A committee member stated that 40 reports of moon sightings had been submitted from various regions including Swabi, Dir, Mohmand, Batgram, Chaman, and Karachi, covering parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Sindh.
Specifically, six reports came from Mohmand, 15 from Chaman in Balochistan, and one from Karachi. All of these reports were examined and verified by the committee.

The zonal committees in Islamabad and Lahore informed the central committee that the Ramadan moon had not been sighted in their cities, as the period allowed for moon observation had ended.
Chairman of the committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, confirmed the sighting of the Ramadan moon during the meeting at the Peshawar Auqaf Department.

He announced that sufficient testimonies were received from different parts of the country, confirming the start of the holy month from February 19, 2025.
