The recent tensions between the BCCI and PCB following the Asia Cup 2025 controversy are expected to feature prominently during the ICC Board meeting scheduled in Dubai tomorrow, November 7.

According to ESPN Cricinfo, although not officially on the agenda, the issue is likely to surface in informal discussions among board members during the November 7 meeting.

Relations between the two cricket boards have mirrored the strained diplomatic ties between their governments, and matters escalated during the Asia Cup when India and Pakistan faced off three times.

The tournament was overshadowed by off-field drama, including a reported “no-handshake” stance by the Indian side and ICC sanctions on players Haris Rauf, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Sahibzada Farhan for politically charged gestures.

One of the most sensitive matters expected to be raised is the fate of the Asia Cup trophy.

Reports suggest that the trophy remains in an ACC office in the UAE, with Naqvi insisting that, as ACC president, he alone will hand it over.

It remains uncertain whether Mohsin Naqvi will attend the meeting in person or join remotely.

Board members are aware that improving cricketing relations between India and Pakistan holds major commercial importance for the global game.

The ICC Chief Executives’ Committee (CEC) will also finalize qualification models for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and other major events, including the 2027 ODI World Cup and 2028 T20 World Cup.

Meanwhile, USA Cricket’s suspension remains unresolved after governance and financial breaches.

The ICC has limited its funding to cricket operations, and discussions on lifting the suspension are expected at the upcoming board meeting.
