The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) approved the establishment of an industrial estate on 3,200 acres of Karachi Steel Mills land.
This decision aims to boost industrial growth and ensure the productive use of idle assets. The ECC meeting, chaired by Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, also approved a technical supplementary grant of Rs2.82 billion for Pakistan Television (PTV).

The grant will fund the launch of a new English news channel. It will also cover employee salaries and pensions.
Earlier, the Prime Minister approved an annual grant of Rs11 billion for PTV. This amount will be paid in quarterly installments, and the ECC has now approved the release of the first installment.
Furthermore, the committee approved technical supplementary grants for climate change-related projects. These funds will help strengthen environmental resilience and support sustainable development efforts.
