OGDCL announces discovery of new oil and gas reserves in Sindh’s Khairpur district

The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has reported the discovery of fresh oil and gas reserves in Sindh, marking a significant development in the energy sector. According to an official statement from OGDCL, the discovery was made in the Khairpur district of Sindh.

OGDCL revealed that the exploration efforts led to the drilling of Khairo Well One, reaching a depth of 3762 meters. Initial assessments suggest that the newly discovered reserve has the potential to produce approximately 1.43 million cubic meters of gas per day, along with an estimated 93 barrels of crude oil per day.

This latest discovery underscores OGDCL’s ongoing efforts to expand and diversify the country’s energy resources. Notably, this is not the first time OGDCL has struck oil and gas in Sindh. Previously, the company unearthed significant reserves from Daras West Well No. 2 in the Tando Ullahyar district of Sindh, further enhancing Pakistan’s energy portfolio.

The discovery of these reserves holds promising implications for the energy landscape of Pakistan, contributing to the country’s energy security and economic growth.
