Tomorrow (Tuesday), Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah will spend the entire day in Karachi, where he will meet with the leadership of MQM-Pakistan, a crucial partner of the Shehbaz government in the Center.
According to sources, Rana Sanaullah would travel to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) headquarters in Bahadurabad to meet with the MQM leadership and deliver a message from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
They claimed that the interior minister will be accompanied by senior PML-N leader Ayaz Sadiq and other federal ministers.
During his day-long visit to the port city, the interior minister will also have a meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.
MQM-P threatens to quit govt
After meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif last Thursday, MQM-P Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui informed the leader about the reaction the party has experienced over the discovery of the remains of missing activists. This is when Rana Sanaullah is anticipated to travel to Karachi.
Khalid Maqbool urged that the prime minister clarify the situation by visiting Karachi or by sending the interior minister to the city. He issued a warning that the MQM-P would be compelled to leave the ministries and the coalition government if the situation was not clarified in a week.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui was reassured by the prime minister that he was treating the situation seriously. PM Shehbaz Sharif was cited as stating, “I would personally visit Karachi and take the MQM-P leadership into confidence on the subject.”
