Sindh’s caretaker government has initiated an inquiry into reports suggesting that the question paper for the Medical & Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT), held on September 10, was leaked before the examination.

A six-member inquiry committee has convened its first meeting to determine responsibility in this matter.

The caretaker health minister has stated that the investigation will be expedited, and those responsible for the breach will face severe consequences.

The committee is expected to submit its findings to the health department’s secretary within one week.

The inquiry comes after students who took the MDCAT filed a petition in the Peshawar High Court, alleging the use of Bluetooth devices for cheating during the test. Consequently, the court temporarily withheld the release of the MDCAT test results. The hearing on this matter is scheduled for September 21.

This inquiry and the court’s decision underscore the importance of maintaining the integrity of standardized tests and ensuring a fair examination process for all candidates.
