ICC to share Champions Trophy schedule with cricket boards next week: Reports

The International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to distribute the finalized schedule for the upcoming Champions Trophy to participating cricket boards next week. This announcement comes following the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s submission of the schedule, which has been reviewed and approved by the ICC without any alterations.

According to sources, the Champions Trophy is slated to take place in Pakistan from February 19 to March 9. The ICC will share the detailed itinerary with the cricket boards of Australia, England, India, South Africa, Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Afghanistan, all of whom will participate in this prestigious event hosted by Pakistan.

Key matches featuring the Indian cricket team are scheduled to be held in Lahore, including the tournament’s final. Sources within the PCB indicate positive signals regarding the Indian team’s participation, with no official discussions suggesting otherwise. This is particularly significant given the geopolitical tensions that often influence sports exchanges between the two nations.

The PCB is reportedly optimistic about India’s participation and has received encouraging feedback from the ICC. Other countries have also expressed their eagerness to adhere to the scheduled plan, underscoring their confidence in Pakistan’s capability to host a successful tournament.

In recent years, Pakistan has hosted several international cricket series, showcasing its improved security measures and infrastructure. This successful track record bolsters the PCB’s position and the ICC’s decision to host the Champions Trophy in Pakistan, promising an exciting and competitive event.

As the cricketing world awaits the formal announcement, fans and stakeholders alike are eager to witness this mega event, which promises to bring top-tier international cricket back to Pakistan’s vibrant and cricket-loving venues.
