Hashish changes into dates in custody in curious police mixup

Another incident has taken place in the warehouse of Karachi’s Clifton police station, where more than one kilo of recovered hashish has mysteriously turned into dates.

More than one kilo of hashish was recovered from a suspect arrested by the Clifton police a few days ago and was sealed and kept in the warehouse as case property.

However, when the case property was opened for chemical examination today on the order of the court, dates were found inside instead of hashish, later on, the police station staff changed the dates back to hashish and presented it to the court.

DIG South Sharjeel Kharal has reprimanded SSP Operation and Investigation for the said incident and ordered Asad Raza and Zahida Parveen to investigate the matter.

The DIG has ordered immediate action against the officials involved.

It should be noted that this is the second incident of looting in the warehouses of police stations in the South District of Karachi. More than 2 crore rupees were stolen from the warehouse of Artillery Maidan police station in the past few days.

The higher authorities have also started investigating the collusion of senior police officers in the same incidents in the same district.
