According to the Prime Minister’s advisers, Imran Khan held a productive meeting with the players and shared his advice and experience ahead of the tournament.
“Step onto the field with confidence and a winning spirit. You have to play aggressively. A team that plays defensively never wins,” Imran Khan told the players.
The prime minister advised the players not to fear losing and encouraged them to fight until the final moment of every match.
He also assured the squad that, regardless of the results, the people of Pakistan would continue to support the national team.
Pakistan’s left-arm pace sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi has reached a remarkable milestone in international cricket, becoming only the sixth Pakistani pacer to take 400 wickets across all three formats of the game.
Shaheen achieved this feat by dismissing Mominul Haque in the first Test against Bangladesh, claiming his fourth wicket in the match and etching his name in Pakistan cricket history.
The 26-year-old now stands alongside some of the greatest names in Pakistani pace bowling, joining an elite club that includes the country’s cricketing legends.
Leading the list is the legendary Wasim Akram, who remains Pakistan’s greatest wicket-taker across all formats with a staggering 916 wickets.
