Legendary comedian Umer Sharif, who is currently seriously ill and in need of a rare medical procedure, will fly toi the United States on September 27 via air ambulance.
The air ambulance has been granted landing permission and will land at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport from Germany on September 26. On the next day, September 27, the ambulance will carry Sharif to the US.
The veteran performer has been granted an emergency US visa after intervention at state level. Due to his severe medical condition, Sharif was exempted from being present at the visa interview.
The Sindh government, last month, announced a grant of Rs 40 million for Sharif’s medical treatment. The federal government also extended its support and heeded Sharif’s plea fo intervention at the US consulate for granting him an emergency visa.
