Iran has reportedly introduced a special 10-day free visa for Pakistanis intending to attend the funeral and mourning ceremonies of late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

According to available information, the arrangement does not provide visa-free entry. Pakistani travellers are still required to submit an application and obtain an approved Iranian visa before travelling. However, the standard visa fee will reportedly be waived for eligible applicants.
Applicants can submit their requests through Iran’s official electronic visa portal. They have been advised to select the “Entry Visa” category and clearly mention their intention to attend the funeral or related mourning ceremonies.
Required Documents
According to the guidance issued for applicants, individuals are required to upload a copy of their CNIC along with proof of their professional or educational status.

Acceptable documents may include an employment card, business card, or student identification card. Applicants must also provide a recent passport-sized photograph with a white background.
A digital copy of the passport’s information page is also required, and the passport must remain valid for at least six months from the date of travel.
Travellers are required to explain the purpose of their visit in the online application form and ensure all information is accurate and complete to avoid delays in processing.
Visa Approval Still Mandatory
The special arrangement only waives the visa fee and does not exempt applicants from obtaining prior travel authorization.
Applicants have been advised to wait for official visa approval before purchasing airline tickets or making final travel arrangements.

Reports indicate that the facility is currently intended primarily for travellers arriving by air. Details regarding individuals planning to enter Iran through the Taftan border crossing remain unclear.
