Investigators probing the death of young businessman Mir Raza Ali have prepared a list of 10 people for questioning after uncovering details of financial transactions and loans allegedly involving the deceased, media reports said.

According to media reports, investigators have obtained information suggesting that Mir Raza had borrowed substantial amounts of money from several individuals. The financial dealings are now being examined as part of the wider investigation into his death.
Media reports said Mir Raza had allegedly borrowed Rs175 million from a person identified as Abid, while another individual, Moni, had reportedly lent him around Rs5 million.
Investigators have compiled details of loans and financial transactions involving the 10 individuals, with the total amount reportedly exceeding Rs50 million.

The people identified in connection with these transactions are expected to be summoned and questioned to determine the nature of their dealings with Mir Raza, including the purpose of the loans, repayment arrangements and their last interactions with the deceased.
Investigators are also expected to examine whether any of the financial disputes or transactions have a connection with the circumstances surrounding Mir Raza’s disappearance and death.
The development comes after Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho acknowledged shortcomings at multiple stages of the investigation.
Odho said police had initially proceeded on the basis of the earlier medico-legal report and followed the direction provided by the medico-legal officer.
The Sindh police chief acknowledged that lapses had occurred, including at the level of the health department’s medico-legal process, and said corrective measures were being taken.

The investigation is now being conducted in light of the detailed findings of the medical board formed after Mir Raza’s body was exhumed for a fresh forensic examination.
The new investigation team is reviewing the medical evidence alongside financial records, forensic findings, digital evidence and other information gathered during the probe.
Investigators are expected to question the 10 individuals as part of efforts to establish whether Mir Raza’s financial dealings had any relevance to his death.
