Pakistani diplomats in India’s capital are facing increasing harassment, with the water supply to the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi cut off, sources revealed on Monday.
According to diplomatic sources, four Pakistani diplomats have received eviction notices from their landlords despite their lease agreements not yet expiring.
The diplomats, who reside in privately rented homes, have also faced disruptions to gas, internet, and other basic facilities.
The High Commission has reported that Indian authorities have stopped delivering newspapers for the past month.
In addition, the extension of Indian visas for 17 staff members including the four diplomats remains pending with the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, despite requests submitted three to five months ago.
The Pakistani High Commission has informed the Foreign Ministry in Islamabad about the situation, which includes increased monitoring and surveillance of its staff.
The developments have raised concerns over the treatment of foreign diplomats and adherence to diplomatic norms.
