Investigations into the death of a young man and Wafflix business owner, Mir Raza Ali, whose body was found in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar, are still ongoing, with authorities examining CCTV footage and other evidences.

Mir Raza, a resident of PECHS Society, was reportedly seen in CCTV footage obtained by investigators leaving his shop near Bahadurabad Chowrangi around 10:42 PM on July 27 while carrying a security guard’s weapon.
According to media reports, Mir Raza returned home after leaving his shop, where he left behind his car, smartwatch, house keys and Rs39,000 in cash. He later booked an online taxi and left for Gulistan-e-Jauhar at around 4:08am in Karachi.
CCTV footage shows that the pistol allegedly belong to the security guard was kept in a drawer at the shop, from where Mir Raza took it before leaving. He travelled alone towards Gulistan-e-Jauhar, where he was also seen walking alone on a street in another CCTV footage.
Reports stated that Mir Raza switched off his mobile phone near Johar Mor Hilltop at around 4:22am and reached Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 2 at approximately 4:28am.

According to media reports, Mir Raza was involved in the Cryptocurrency business along with his other business ventures. He had reportedly facilitated investments from several individuals and had been paying returns to investors periodically.

Reports said he began facing losses in the digital currency business in December 2025, while a major setback occurred in April 2026. Following the losses, he allegedly started seeking loans from acquaintances to cover business obligations.
He was reportedly facing debts estimated between Rs50 million and Rs80 million. Reports further stated that he had arranged an investment of around Rs7.5 million from an overseas friend but was unable to pay the promised returns.
Fiancée’s Statement Recorded
Media reports said police have also recorded the statement of Mir Raza’s fiancée. According to the reports, she remained in contact with him until around 11:30pm on July 28.
The reports added that she attempted to contact him again around 3am and made more than 40 calls and sent several messages over a 20-minute period, but received no response.
Investigators reportedly found that Mir Raza had deleted his social media accounts and transferred Rs250,000 to his father’s account before leaving home.
He also allegedly took a 30-bore pistol belonging to his shop’s security guard with him. The weapon’s holster was later recovered from the crime scene, while the pistol remains missing.
CCTV Footage Shows Motorcycle at Location
According to reports, important CCTV footage from near the location where Mir Raza’s body was found has also emerged.
The footage reportedly shows a motorcycle arriving at the location at around 3:36am on July 29 and remaining there for approximately 22 seconds before leaving.
Initial findings suggest that Mir Raza’s body may have been brought to and left at the location during the early hours of July 29, according to media reports.

Investigators are examining the possibility that the pistol holster was also discarded at the scene and could provide important clues in the case.
Police have expanded the investigation using CCTV footage and other available evidence to identify those involved and are reviewing all possible aspects of the incident.
Mobile Phone Recovered
Reports said Mir Raza had allegedly thrown his mobile phone away while travelling. The device was reportedly found by three workers on University Road, who were later traced by police, leading to the recovery of the phone.
Authorities are continuing to investigate whether Mir Raza was killed or died by suicide.
Meanwhile, Mir Raza’s parents have rejected the possibility of suicide, claiming that he was murdered after being subjected to severe torture and gunfire as part of a planned attack.
