Karachi police issued a comprehensive traffic management plan for the Chehlum (20 Safar) procession on August 4 in the metropolis.

Karachi traffic plan outlines designated routes and alternative paths for commuters. The procession will depart from its traditional starting point at 9:00 AM.

According to an official statement, the main procession will commence from the Hussainian Iranian area and proceed along its designated route through various parts of the city before culminating at Nishtar Park.

Citizens arriving from different districts have been assigned specific routes to reach their destinations. Heavy traffic restrictions will be in place along the procession route.

Alternate Routes (For District Central)

Commuters travelling from Nazimabad should use Lasbela Chowk, proceed via Nishtar Road and Garden, and continue towards their destinations.

Motorists coming from Liaquatabad should travel via Teen Hatti to Lasbela Chowk, then turn left towards Central Jail (Martin Road) to reach their destinations.

Those travelling from Hassan Square to P.P. Chowrangi should use Kashmir Road, continue via Society Light Signal (Sharea Quaideen) and the Jail Flyover, then proceed through Teen Hatti to Nishtar Road (Lasbela Chowk).

Alternate Routes (For District East)

Commuters travelling from Sharea Faisal towards Sharea Quaideen (Noorani Kabab) and Numaish should take a right turn at Society Light Signal onto Kashmir Road and continue to their destinations.

Vehicles travelling from Central Jail Gate (Jamshed Road) towards Guru Mandir and M.A. Jinnah Road should proceed via Bahadur Yar Jang Road and Soldier Bazaar to reach their destinations.

Alternate Routes (For District South)

Motorists travelling from Garden Zoo towards M.A. Jinnah Road should turn right at Uncle Saria, continue via Gul Plaza, then take a left towards the Coast Guard and Holy Family Hospital before proceeding to their destinations.

Alternate Route for Heavy Traffic

All heavy and commercial vehicles travelling from Super Highway or Gulberg towards M.A. Jinnah Road will be diverted from Liaquatabad No. 10 to Nazimabad Chowrangi No. 2, proceeding via Habib Bank Flyover, State Avenue Road, Sher Shah, and Mauripur. The same route will be used for the return journey.

Heavy and commercial traffic entering the city from the National Highway will be permitted to travel via Sharea Faisal or Rashid Minhas Road, then through Stadium Road, Sir Shah Suleman Road, Hassan Square, Liaquatabad No. 10, Nazimabad Chowrangi No. 2, Habib Bank Flyover, State Avenue Road, Sher Shah, and Mauripur. The same route will remain in effect for the return journey.

No vehicle, whether light or heavy, will be allowed to proceed beyond Guru Mandir Chowk towards the procession route. All such traffic will be diverted to Bahadur Yar Jang Road via Soldier Bazaar.

Entry of all types of vehicles onto M.A. Jinnah Road will remain prohibited, except for vehicles displaying an official procession sticker affixed to the windscreen. Such vehicles will be allowed to enter via Sharea Quaideen through the Society Light Signal.

Routes for Procession Participants

Participants arriving from Nazimabad should travel via Lasbela, Al-Bela, turn right towards Garden Jamaat Khana, then proceed through Soldier Bazaar No. 3 Light Signal to Numaish.

Participants coming from Liaquatabad should use Teen Hatti, Jahangir Road, Guru Mandir, and continue to Numaish.

Participants from Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Gulshan-e-Iqbal should travel via University Road, Old Sabzi Mandi, Kashmir Road, and Society Light Signal before reaching Numaish.

Note: No vehicle will be allowed to park along the procession route.
