John Campbell, Shai Hope and Amir Jangoo all scored centuries as West Indies dominated the Indian bowling attack.
Campbell led the charge at the top of the order, smashing 101 off 68 balls with nine fours and five sixes. His century came off just 65 balls, making it the fastest ODI hundred by a West Indies batter against India.
It was also Campbell’s first ODI century since 2019, ending a long wait for his second hundred in the format.
Hope then continued the momentum with a composed 104 off 94 balls. The West Indies captain hit eight fours and three sixes before being dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav.
Jangoo provided the late acceleration in the innings, scoring 114 off just 77 balls. His knock included 13 fours and three sixes, while his century came off 70 balls.
Campbell and Jangoo now hold the two fastest ODI centuries by a West Indies batter against India. Campbell’s 65-ball hundred moved ahead of Jangoo’s 70-ball effort, while Ricardo Powell’s 72-ball century in 1999 previously held the record.
The three centuries also made the Guwahati match only the sixth ODI in which a team has produced three individual hundreds in the same innings.
West Indies reached 96 for one after 10 overs, with Campbell contributing 69 runs from the first 10 overs. The team then continued to accelerate and crossed 200 in 25.3 overs, another landmark in their dominant batting display against India.
Hope and Jangoo added 182 runs for the third wicket, with Jangoo taking the attack to the Indian bowlers during the middle and final overs.
By the end of the 50 overs, West Indies had reached 405/7.
Roston Chase remained unbeaten on 29 off 25 balls, while Shamar Joseph added an unbeaten 14 off 8 balls.
For India, Gurnoor Brar, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each, while Prasidh Krishna claimed one wicket.
However, the Indian bowlers struggled to contain the West Indies batters, with Gurnoor conceding 96 runs from his 10 overs and Auqib Nabi giving away 84 runs in 8.5 overs.
The innings also marked a major turnaround for West Indies after their 295 for seven in the first ODI, which India chased down with eight wickets and 50 balls to spare.
West Indies will now look to defend their record total and level the ODI series in Guwahati.
