Security forces killed 15 militants in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in Harnai District and Basima District, according to an official statement released by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The operations were carried out after intelligence reports indicated the presence of armed militants in the areas.

Operation in Harnai

According to security officials, the first intelligence-based operation was conducted in Harnai District, where troops targeted a militant hideout following confirmed intelligence.

During the operation, security forces engaged the militants in a heavy exchange of fire. After an intense gun battle, 12 militants were killed, officials said.

Authorities stated that the militants were linked to groups described as Indian proxies and were allegedly involved in terrorist activities in the region.

Operation in Basima

In a separate operation in Basima District, security forces tracked the presence of militants belonging to another network operating in the area.

Officials said troops engaged the militants using mixed-calibre weapons, leading to a fierce exchange of fire.

As a result of the operation, three militants were killed, according to the statement.

Weapons recovered

Security forces also recovered weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the militants killed in both operations.

Officials said the militants were allegedly involved in multiple terrorist activities targeting security forces and civilians in the region.

Search operations continue

Following the operations, security forces launched sanitisation operations in the surrounding areas to locate and eliminate any remaining militants.

Authorities said the counterterrorism campaign is being conducted under the national strategy Azm-e-Istehkam, which was approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan.
