The Sindh Government has decided to introduce more new buses in Karachi to improve public transport and make commuting safer, faster, and more convenient for residents.
The decision was made during a high-level meeting of the Transport and Mass Transit Department, chaired by Senior Minister Sherjeel Inam Memon.

During the meeting, officials reviewed ongoing projects, including the Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), and discussed measures to enhance public services.
The CEO of Trans Karachi provided a detailed briefing on the progress of the Red Line BRT project, highlighting completed work, existing challenges, and upcoming goals.
Sherjeel Inam Memon emphasized that the overall pace of work on the Red Line is satisfactory but urged authorities to accelerate progress.

“Timely completion of the Red Line corridor is a priority to reduce travel difficulties and traffic congestion,” he said.
He also stressed strict implementation of alternative traffic plans during construction and more active monitoring of development projects to ensure timely updates.
The minister instructed officials to speed up the introduction of new buses, prioritizing routes with higher commuter demand.

He said expanding bus services would provide citizens with safe, affordable, and dignified travel options. Construction work on the second part of the Taj Haider Bridge was also ordered to begin soon.
