The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has clarified that a B-Form (Child Registration Certificate – CRC) can be obtained even if a child’s parents are not available.
The B-Form is an essential document required for school admissions, passport issuance, and international travel.
In many cases, especially in rural areas, parents fail to apply for their children’s B-Forms on time. NADRA has provided a clear process to address such situations.

Step-by-Step Guide to Apply Without Parents
If the parents are unavailable due to death, absence abroad, or other reasons, a close family member, such as a sibling or spouse, can apply on behalf of the applicant.
Step 1: Visit a NADRA Registration Center
In response, NADRA advised that in such cases, the citizen could apply for the CRC on behalf of his sister by visiting a nearby NADRA office.
Step 2: Carry Required Documents
The following documents are required:
- Computerised Birth Certificate of the applicant
- Father’s CNIC
- Mother’s Computerised Death Certificate (if deceased)

Step 3: Update Marital Status (If Applicable)
If the applicant is married, the following additional documents are required:
- Computerised Nikah Nama (Marriage Certificate)
- Husband’s CNIC
These documents are necessary to update the marital status in NADRA records before issuing the CRC.
NADRA’s Advice to Parents
To prevent future complications, NADRA advises parents to regularly update their children’s B-Forms. A B-Form issued at birth becomes invalid once the child turns three years old, making timely renewal crucial.
