The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission has confirmed that the final supermoon of 2025, known as the December cold moon, will be visible across the country on December 04 and 5.
SPARCO said the rare sight will appear clearly in the night sky between December 4 and 5, giving sky watchers an opportunity to see the year’s last and brightest lunar display.

Officials explained that this supermoon is the third consecutive one of 2025, completing a unique sequence that drew interest from astronomy enthusiasts throughout the year as the phenomenon repeated monthly.
The December cold moon will reach its peak brightness at 4:15 am on December 5, shining at an impressive 99.8 percent illumination and offering a vibrant natural display for observers nationwide.

SPARCO added that the moon will rise in Pakistan at 4:58 pm on December 4, appearing already bright at 99.2 percent and remaining visible as it continues its journey toward maximum luminosity.
Experts noted that the distance between the Earth and the moon tonight will be around 357,218 kilometres, a position close enough to make the moon appear noticeably larger compared with normal full moons.

According to the commission, viewers will see the moon appear approximately 7.9 percent larger and about 15 percent brighter, creating the classic visual characteristics associated with global supermoon occurrences.
