The Sindh free solar system scheme is a major initiative to help poor households using less than 100 units of electricity monthly across Sindh province.

It supports families affected by high electricity prices while promoting clean, sustainable energy through free solar home systems provided to eligible consumers.

A total of 120,000 protected consumers from areas like Karachi, Kohistan, and Sindh’s desert regions will benefit from this home-based solar installation project.

Eligibility Criteria

Only applicants whose electricity usage has stayed under 100 units for the last six months are eligible to apply for the solar system.

People who have already received a solar system under any government scheme are not eligible for this project, even if they meet the unit criteria.

Required Documents

Applicants must submit:

  • A copy of their CNIC
  • A recent electricity bill
  • A filled application form verified by a Union Council Chairman or any gazetted officer

Unverified forms will not be accepted for processing under any circumstances, as per the department’s instructions.

How to Apply

Submit the complete application and required documents by August 20, 2025, to:

Energy Department, 3rd Floor, State Life Building No. 3, Dr. Ziauddin Ahmed Road, Karachi.

Applicants are advised to apply early. Submitting an application does not guarantee selection.

Selection and Installation Process

If more than 120,000 applications are received, a lucky draw will be held to select recipients fairly. This ensures transparency in the shortlisting process.

The decision made by the Project Monitoring Committee will be final and cannot be legally challenged by any applicant under any condition.

Selected households will receive and have solar systems installed by an NGO. A third-party will independently monitor the project to ensure fair implementation.
