As the nation marks Youm-e-Istehsal, Pakistan’s military and political leadership have once again expressed unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, condemning India’s continued occupation and unilateral actions in Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a strong statement reaffirming that Pakistan’s Armed Forces, including the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, and Chief of Air Staff, stand shoulder to shoulder with Kashmiris in their legitimate struggle.
The ISPR noted that India’s attempts to alter the demographic composition and legal status of Kashmir, especially since August 5, 2019, violate international law and UN Security Council resolutions.
It further warned that India’s oppressive tactics and provocative statements have escalated tensions in the region, turning Kashmir into a humanitarian crisis.

The military leadership emphasized that peace in South Asia is impossible without a fair and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute, in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in his official message, strongly condemned India’s actions of August 5, 2019, calling them illegal and a direct attack on Kashmiris’ identity and basic human rights.
President Asif Ali Zardari also issued a statement, stating that India has since intensified its repressive tactics, including altering voter demographics and changing the political map of Kashmir to silence dissent.
Pakistan reaffirmed its continued political, diplomatic, and moral support for Kashmiris until they are granted their right to self-determination.
