Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has urged Pakistani filmmakers to bring local dramas and films to international streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon, saying the country’s entertainment sector holds massive global potential.
Speaking at a roundtable with prominent producers and directors in Karachi, He said Pakistani dramas are admired worldwide but lack visibility on global digital platforms.
He criticized the stagnant state of the film industry, with only a few releases each year, and encouraged creators to explore fresh, original stories instead of recycling old themes.

He also praised government efforts in boosting creative sectors and urged the media industry to represent Pakistan’s image positively on the world stage.
