Pakistan Railways has launched a newly upgraded rake for the Pak Business Express, which departed from Karachi Cantt Station this week on July 29.

The coaches were entirely built using local resources in the railway’s own workshops. The goal is to offer passengers a more comfortable, pleasant, and high-quality travel experience.

The train continues to operate on its regular route. However, this journey marks its departure with brand-new, modern coaches featuring enhanced amenities.

On the occasion, Divisional Superintendent (DS) of Karachi Railways, Mehmood ur Rehman Lakho, bid farewell to the passengers and briefed the media on the new rake’s features.

Earlier, at Lahore Railway Station, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif officially inaugurated the upgraded rake.

The newly upgraded rake includes 17 modern coaches designed for comfort and convenience. It consists of 10 economy class coaches, 4 air-conditioned (AC) class coaches, 1 premium dining car, 1 power van, and 1 brake van. The total seating capacity stands at 1,100 passengers.

The upgraded coaches feature fully redesigned interiors equipped with modern amenities. Each coach offers spacious, cushioned seating, improved lighting and ventilation, and new curtains for added comfort and privacy.

Passengers can use seat-up holders for bottles and mobile phones, enjoy individual reading lights, and stay connected with free onboard Wi-Fi throughout the journey.

A dedicated premium dining car serves high-quality meals and refreshments, enhancing the travel experience. For added convenience, trained janitorial staff maintain cleanliness during the trip. Additionally, a power van ensures uninterrupted electric supply, while a brake van secures luggage safely.

DS Karachi emphasized that Pakistan Railways prioritizes passenger convenience, dignity, and satisfaction. He said this step reflects the department’s broader commitment to modernize travel infrastructure across the country.
