The E-Gates project officially launched today as experts gathered at the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) headquarters in Karachi.
M2P Consulting, a global firm, will lead the planning, design, and installation of e-gates at Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi airports over the next 24 months.
The agreement ceremony followed technical discussions chaired by Deputy DG Airports Sadiq-Ur-Rehman and Deputy DG Works and Development Sameer Saeed at the PAA office.
Christophe Mostert of M2P Consulting and Kashif Shah Jilani, Director of Engineering Services, signed the agreement, marking the project’s formal initiation.
Officials discussed system integration with ICAO and local security systems to automate passenger processing, reduce manual checks, and boost travel convenience.

M2P will also guide the project through its implementation phase and oversee operations of the selected vendor once the tendering is completed.
Surveys have already been completed at Islamabad and Lahore airports. The Karachi airport survey will begin tomorrow under expert supervision and technical assessment teams.
The e-gates will allow secure and automated check-in, identity verification, and immigration processing, helping reduce passenger queues and improving overall airport efficiency.
Senior PAA officials, including directors of Planning, Development, and Engineering Services, attended the launch, highlighting its importance for Pakistan’s air travel sector.
