Pakistan made a mark at the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Turin, Italy, securing 11 medals in various events.

In the men’s 100-meter cross-country skiing, Muneeb Ur Rehman won gold, while Mongolia’s Amarjargal took silver, and China’s Mingjun Hong earned bronze.

In the men’s 400-meter snowshoeing, Abdul Saboor clinched gold, with Romania’s Lonut Petrisor finishing second and Macau’s Chi Fong taking third.

In the women’s 400-meter snowshoeing, Minal secured gold, followed by Latvia’s Adriana Maleca in second and Chinese Taipei’s Yi Jhen Chen in third.

Pakistan’s final medal tally: 6 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze.

Chairperson of Special Olympics Pakistan, Ronak Lakhani, praised the athletes, their coaches, Head of Delegation Farkhanda Jabeen, team doctor Bilal Mateen, and media representatives Taha Tahir and Saad Asif.

She applauded their dedication in freezing Turin weather and expressed confidence in their future success at global competitions.
