Responding to Mayor Karachi–Murataza Wahab’s earlier statement, Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori challenges the mayor to submit a Rs100 billion development project summary, promising to secure federal funding in return.
Speaking at an Iftar dinner, Governor Tesori stated, “If Mayor Karachi brings me a summary of development projects worth Rs100 billion tomorrow, I will ensure the federal government provides the funds.”
He further added that as the constitutional head, he would issue a formal letter granting the mayor any required authority.
Meanwhile, the Governor House continues to serve as a public forum, with Tesori emphasizing that citizens’ concerns must be addressed.
Additionally, Governor Tesori announced free entertainment facilities outside the Governor House, including swings for children, horse riding, and mehndi stalls for women on Chand Raat.
Earlier to this, Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has accused Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori of attempting to transfer powers to the mayor’s office through force, rather than constitutional means.
He urged Tessori to secure Rs 100 billion from the federal government and Rs 175 billion for the K-IV water project, also demanding the return of funds obtained through illegal land grabbing (China-cutting).
