According to Geo News, the train was traveling from Quetta to Peshawar when assailants blew up a railway track and opened fire in the Peru Kanri area, Levies officials said. Security forces on board retaliated with heavy firing.
Following the attack, a relief train and security contingents were sent to the site. The Balochistan government launched an investigation into the incident, considering the possibility of terrorism.
Meanwhile, an emergency was declared at Sibi and Civil Hospital Quetta, with medical staff on high alert.
