Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President, Rajeev Shukla, has praised the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan, calling it a highly successful tournament with excellent organization in Pakistan and Dubai.
During his visit to Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium to watch the second semifinal between South Africa and New Zealand, Shukla commended Pakistan for hosting an ICC event after a long gap and acknowledged the importance of such tournaments.
“Both the Champions Trophy and the World Cup hold great significance. The matches have been well-organized, and I believe this tournament has been a major success,” he told the media.
Shukla also spoke about India’s campaign, stating that the team relies on its abilities rather than pitch conditions.
He stated that all of India’s matches, including the final, were scheduled in Dubai, while Australia needed to win the semifinal against India for Lahore to host the final of the tournament.
He further stressed that both the Pakistan and India cricket boards have long supported bilateral series and expressed hope for future cricketing ties.
Officials from Bangladesh, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and New Zealand cricket boards also attended the semifinal, with BCB President Farooq Ahmed meeting PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to discuss future collaborations.
