The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has predicted that Ramadan will last 29 days this year, with Eid-ul-Fitr expected to be celebrated on March 31, 2025.

According to the Committee, the Eid moon is likely to be sighted across most parts of Pakistan on the evening of March 30. At that time, the moon’s age will be 26 hours, making it visible under standard conditions for moon sighting.

However, If Ramadan lasts 29 days, Eid will fall on Monday, March 31, with official holidays extending from March 31 to April 2 (Monday to Wednesday). On the other hand, if Ramadan extends to 30 days, Eid will be observed from April 1 to April 3 (Tuesday to Thursday).

With government employees already enjoying a weekend off on Saturday and Sunday, this arrangement would result in at least six consecutive holidays for the public sector.

The extended break is expected to allow people to celebrate Eid with their families and travel without work-related concerns.
