The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched a new advisory to curb human trafficking, focusing on passengers from nine specific cities in Pakistan.
The advisory urges authorities to closely monitor travelers from Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Bhimber, Jhelum, Toba Tek Singh, Hafizabad, and Sheikhupura, particularly at airports.
FIA has emphasized the need for additional scrutiny of first-time passengers traveling to certain foreign countries, especially those aged between 15 and 40.
Officials have been instructed to pay extra attention to those heading to countries like Azerbaijan, Ethiopia, Senegal, Kenya, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Libya, Iran, Mauritania, Iraq, Turkey, Qatar, Kuwait, and Kyrgyzstan.
To ensure safety and prevent human trafficking, the FIA has mandated that the officials thoroughly check all travel documents, including return tickets and hotel bookings.
Special attention is being paid to passengers traveling on visit or tourist visas.
Suspicious travelers will undergo interviews to confirm their travel purpose and financial support. Meanwhile, the immigration officers are required to keep detailed records and report any concerns immediately.
