As Muslims in Pakistan prepare to observe the holy month of Ramadan, the Sindh government has issued revised schedules for school and college timings to accommodate the religious practices of fasting during this auspicious period.
According to a notification from the Sindh Education Department, schools across the province will adjust their timings during Ramadan. Morning shift schools will operate from 7:30 am to 11:30 am, while afternoon shift schools will function from 11:45 am to 2:45 pm. Additionally, on Fridays, the morning shift timings will be from 7:30 am to 10:30 am and 10:45 am to 1:15 pm.
Similarly, colleges in Sindh will also alter their timings. Morning shift classes will take place from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm, while evening shift classes will be held from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. These adjustments aim to facilitate students and staff members in observing their religious obligations while ensuring educational activities continue smoothly.
The announcement of these revised timings comes as Muslims across the country anticipate the commencement of Ramadan. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, officially declared the start of Ramadan following the sighting of the moon on Monday evening.
Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, is a time of spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and increased devotion for Muslims worldwide. Fasting from dawn till sunset is a central pillar of Ramadan, with fasting hours typically ranging from 12 to 17 hours, depending on geographical locations across the globe.

As millions of believers embark on this sacred journey, communities around the world come together to observe Ramadan’s teachings of compassion, generosity, and solidarity. The beginning of Ramadan marks a period of spiritual renewal and communal unity for Muslims worldwide.
