The Caretaker Sindh government has taken a significant step towards ensuring transparency and oversight in Karachi’s extensive development projects under the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC). A seven-member committee has been established for the purpose of closely monitoring these multi-billion rupee initiatives, as reported by ARY News on Wednesday.
The Department of Planning and Development has issued alerts to the Municipal Department, directing them to exercise vigilant oversight over various development projects. These projects encompass the construction of roads, underground passes, parks, and other significant undertakings that involve substantial expenditures.
Responding to the need for thorough scrutiny and quality control, the caretaker government of Sindh has directed the formation of a seven-member team. This committee, comprising relevant experts, will be actively engaged in monitoring the development projects from November 21 to December 21.
The primary objective of this initiative is to ensure that the allocated funds are utilized efficiently, and the projects adhere to high-quality standards. By implementing this monitoring committee, the caretaker Sindh government aims to enhance accountability and transparency in the execution of crucial development projects within Karachi.
