The Sindh government has asked the National Command and Control Centre to block the National Identity Cards of the people involved in providing Covid19 vaccination certificates to people wishing to visit foreign countries.
This communication came to light on Thursday when ARY News reported that the provincial government has written a letter to this effect to the NCOC.
According to ARY News, around 36 people were arrested and are currently facing charges for being involved in the fake vaccination cards, the Sindh health department told NCOC.
The existence of such scams was uncovered on August 6, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) busted a racket involved in making fake Covid-19 vaccination certificates in the federal capital.
The cybercrime wing of the FIA arrested a man named Amjad Khan who was selling fake Covid-19 vaccination certificates for people wishing to travel abroad. Amjad, in turn, pointed the finger at travel agent Shahab Khan as his partner in crime.
The FIA took action against these people on complaints received by NCOC.
