The International Cricket Council (ICC) has nominated Pakistan’s 22-year-old left-handed opener, Saim Ayub, as men’s emerging cricketer of the year category.
With an impressive tally of 515 runs from nine ODIs, averaging 64.37, Ayub has shown consistency and flair, particularly in the 50-over format in international cricket.
A regular fixture in Pakistan’s top order, Ayub was instrumental in his team’s victories in several away series, including historic triumphs in Australia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.
His performances in ODIs stood out, with the left-hander expected to play a key role as Pakistan prepared to defend their ICC Champions Trophy title.

One of Ayub’s most memorable performances came in Paarl during a crucial match against South Africa while chasing 240, Pakistan found themselves struggling at 60/4, but Ayub, alongside Salman Agha (82), put together a game-changing partnership.
Ayub’s 109 runs off 119 balls, including 10 fours and three sixes, helped Pakistan secure a dominant series win and added to his growing reputation as a match-winner.
