Traffic violation fine should be increased: traffic police bigwigs

Following the rise in fine money for incorrect parking in Lahore, Karachi police demanded an increase in fine money for traffic offences on Monday.

Ahmed Nawaz Cheema, DIG Traffic Karachi, stated that the traffic police are already working to guarantee strict adherence to rules and regulations in order to maintain a smooth flow of traffic in the metropolis.

The DIG Traffic Karachi has advised that the amount of fee for traffic offences be increased since it is low in comparison to other regions of the nation. He stated that he hopes the Sindh government would accept his proposals.

According to DIG Cheema, the increase in fine money will result in a significant drop in traffic offences.

Earlier in the day, the Lahore City Traffic Police (CTP) increased the improper parking charge by 900 percent, requiring individuals to pay Rs2,000 for the infraction.

According to information, the Lahore city police have increased the improper parking charge from Rs200 to Rs2,000, a 900 percent rise.

Muntazir Mehdi, the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) of Lahore, issued a statement ordering traffic staff to follow a zero-tolerance attitude toward violators. “The judgement was made in accordance with the stringent directives of the Lahore High Court (LHC),” he continued.
