The Sindh School Education and Literacy Department have finalized the academic schedule for the year 2024-25, as announced on Thursday. In a significant decision, students in grades I to III will be promoted without the need for exams this year, as per a notification issued by ARY News.
According to the official notification, examinations for students in classes IV to VIII will be conducted after Eid, spanning from April 15 to April 27. Meanwhile, board examinations for classes IX and X are scheduled to take place in May.
Furthermore, the department has made amendments to the academic calendar for the upcoming year. The academic year 2024-25 is set to commence from August 1, 2024, instead of the initially planned date of April 1, 2024.
In line with the revised schedule, summer vacations for institutions under the academic session 2024-25 will commence from June 1, 2024, and extend until July 31, 2024. Additionally, winter vacations for the same session are slated to begin from December 21, 2024, and conclude on December 31, 2024.
The decision aims to streamline the academic process and provide students with a structured learning environment amid ongoing challenges posed by the pandemic. With the promotion of students in lower grades and the rescheduling of examinations, the education department endeavors to ensure continuity in learning while prioritizing the health and safety of students.
