Sindh CM to provide financial aid to affected families as 12 die in Karachi factory ration distribution stampede

The Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, has announced financial aid for the families affected by the tragic stampede that occurred at a Karachi factory. The incident resulted in the loss of lives of 12 people, including three children, during the distribution of zakat and ration at the factory.

CM Shah has announced that Rs 500,000 in financial assistance will be provided to the families of the deceased, and Rs 100,000 will be given to each injured person. He has instructed the authorities to compile records of the deceased and injured individuals immediately. Once the records have been compiled, the financial compensation will be distributed to the victims’ families.

Rescue officials reported that the incident took place at a factory near Siemens Chowrangi in Karachi’s SITE area. The deceased persons included three children and mostly women, who lost their lives due to a stampede during the zakat distribution. Rescue teams transported the wounded persons and bodies to the hospital, and several injured individuals are currently in critical condition.

According to eyewitnesses, the deaths were caused by a stampede during zakat distribution at the factory. Rescue officials also received reports of a fire caused by gas leakage at the factory. The narrow streets were filled with water, indicating that the factory workers attempted to put out the fire. Police officials stated that they were not informed about the zakat or ration distribution by the factory staff; otherwise, they would have made appropriate arrangements.
