Rawalpindi Traffic Police issues advisory for Murree tourists amid continuous rain and snowfall predictions

As continuous rain lashes Malika Kohsar Murree since the previous day, Rawalpindi Traffic Police has issued a vital advisory for tourists heading to the picturesque hill station. The Meteorological Department has reported persistent rain accompanied by strong winds, resulting in a significant drop in temperature and disruptions to the power system. Moreover, snowfall has been forecasted for the area today.

The pleasant weather has attracted a surge of tourists to Murree, prompting the traffic police to issue precautionary measures to ensure safety on the roads. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Timur Khan emphasized the importance of cautious driving, particularly in areas prone to heavy fog and rain. He advised motorists to reduce speed, utilize fog lights and double signals, and refrain from unnecessary travel due to the risk of landslides.

Furthermore, the advisory highlights the significance of patience and adherence to traffic regulations, urging drivers to refrain from overtaking in the face of two-way traffic. Additionally, tourists are encouraged to park their vehicles in safe and appropriate locations during their visit to Murree.

Meanwhile, heavy snowfall in Kalam has resulted in tourists being stranded in hotels, with communication roads blocked. The suspension of electricity supply has compounded the difficulties faced by both locals and tourists in Kalam. Authorities are working to address the situation and restore normalcy in the affected areas.
