Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has strongly criticized the national cricket team, calling them a “bottom 5 team” rather than a top contender. Latif also pointed out the difference between Pakistan’s bowlers and those from other countries. “When Jofra Archer returns after two years of injury, his pace doesn’t drop. But our bowlers lose their pace,” he said. He questioned the quality of physiotherapy and medical care, suggesting that “either the bowler isn’t capable, or the physio is fooling”
“How can Shaheen’s speed decrease? In 2022, he was bowling at 144 kph,” he said, blaming the medical team. He also criticized the delayed knee scan for Fakhar Zaman during the World Cup and the decision to play Naseem Shah in the Asia Cup despite his injury.
Comparing with India, Latif said, “Jasprit Bumrah returns from injury and bowls with the same pace. He’s still the number one bowler in the world.”
“If Shoaib Akhtar bowled at 120 kph, would anyone have watched him? After six months, he would come back and bowl at 150 kph. How have the current bowlers dropped to 130? The medical staff is colluding with the players.”
