Sindh minister emphasizes Pakistan’s leadership in blind cricket ahead of T20 World Cup

Sindh’s Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar, highlighted Pakistan’s prominent role in Blind Cricket on the global stage, emphasizing the remarkable achievements of the nation’s visually impaired cricketers in various international competitions. His comments came during a meeting with Syed Sultan Shah, Chairman of the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC), at his office on Thursday.

The meeting also saw the participation of Provincial Secretary of Sports Jalaluddin Mahar, Chief Engineer Aslam Mahar, Media Advisor of the Pakistan Olympic Association Asif Azeem, and Secretary of the Sindh Olympic Association Ahmed Ali Rajput.

During the discussion, Minister Mahar expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming Fourth T20 Blind Cricket World Cup, which Pakistan will host. He affirmed the Sindh Government’s commitment to supporting the event, particularly in Karachi. “We are fully prepared to host the Blind Cricket World Cup and will ensure all necessary arrangements are made,” Mahar stated.

He further assured that he would engage with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to secure the province’s active participation and support for the event. “Hosting the Blind Cricket World Cup will not only revive international sports in Pakistan but also provide an excellent platform for our local players to showcase their talents before a home crowd,” he added.

PBCC Chairman Syed Sultan Shah briefed the attendees about the Fourth T20 Blind Cricket World Cup, scheduled to take place from November 22nd to December 3rd. He revealed that seven countries, including India, have confirmed their participation in this prestigious tournament.

Minister Mahar pledged to follow up on the arrangements in the coming week to ensure everything is on track for the event. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with all parties committed to making the Fourth T20 Blind Cricket World Cup a resounding success, highlighting Pakistan’s dedication to promoting sports for all, regardless of physical limitations.
