Naqeeb’s brother Sher Alam filed an appeal in the Sindh High Court against the acquittal of former SSP Malir Rao Anwar and others in the Naqeebullah murder case through his lawyer.
According to Alam’s appeal, the Special Anti-Terrorism Court acquitted the accused despite the evidence. The Special Anti-Terrorism Court’s verdict should be overturned, according to the appeal.
On January 23, 2023, the Special Anti-Terrorism Court issued its decision in the Naqeebullah murder case. Due to a lack of evidence, the court acquitted 18 defendants, including Rao Anwar.
