PML-N wants to turn Karachi into Lahore: Talal Chaudhry

Second-tier PML-N leader Talal Chaudhry on Wednesday said that the party will extend all the good work they have done in Lahore to Karachi if elected in the upcoming cantonment board elections.

“Today, Lahore has the Orange Line metro and our streets are cleaned every day. On the other hand, Karachi’s roads are lined with garbage as far as the eye can see,” Chaudhry said before making the promise of whipping the city back into shape if his political party is elected in the upcoming election.

Touching upon the controversy surrounding party leader Miftah Ismail’s resignation from the General Secretary of the Sindh division, Chaudhry said that Ismail had resigned from the position so that the recent party scandal can be investigated unbiasedly.

“He did not want to seem like he was influencing the internal investigation going on in the party,” Chaudhry said.

Ismail’s resignation has been linked to his discontent over not receiving a party ticket for the cantonment elections. However, according to Dawn.com, Ismail has resigned after questions were raised over his involvement in a recent incident where a few workers of PML-N trashed one of their own Karachi offices as a way to show their displeasure over the party’s voice of candidates for the cantonment board elections.
