Pakistan to launch tourism app on World Tourism Day

On ‘World Tourism Day,’ Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Tourism, Wasi Shah, announced that the Ministry of Tourism would soon unveil a dedicated ‘tourism app’ to enhance public convenience.

In an official statement, Minister Wasi Shah revealed that the app would provide one-click access to information related to tourism destinations and would particularly focus on promoting medical tourism within the country.

The minister also stated that the interim government would support eco-tourism initiatives through public-private partnerships in regions that are rich in tourist attractions.

“Tourists visiting Pakistan will soon have access to an official application that provides authentic information and connects them to the state tourism department,” he elaborated.

He further added, “The app will be available for Android users on the Google Play Store and will include comprehensive information about tourist spots, transportation options, and various services.”

World Tourism Day is observed globally, including in Pakistan, to raise awareness about the significance of tourism and its impact on society. This year’s theme is “Tourism and Green Investments.”

In his message for the day, President Dr. Arif Alvi emphasized that this occasion serves as a reminder of the potential of the tourism sector in advancing regional prosperity and progress.
