NAB Karachi accuses former finance minister of corruption, recommends references


National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi accused former finance minister Abdul Hafeez Shaikh and former Chairman FBR Abdullah Yousaf along with others in a abuse of power case.


It has been recommended to the NAB headquarter to file references against former finance minister Hafeez Shaikh and Chairman FBR Abdullah Yousaf who has caused loss of $11.125 million to the national exchequer.


In the regional board meeting Sindh, chaired by Director General NAB Karachi Dr. Najaf Quli Mirza, the board examined the data and asked for the legal proceedings against the accused formers.


It recommended the registration of two corruption references and the transformation of two complaints into inquiries.


Former finance ministry has been accused of abuse of power, making illegal payments of US$10 million from national exchequer during his tenure. He was later asked to step down from the office of finance ministry by PM Imran Khan.


FBR Chairman and others are also accused of millions of dollars corruption and in abuse of power case.
